ZOFIA MARIA MOSSAKOWSKI Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, Zofia Maria Mossakowski passed away on Friday, March 27, 2009 at Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 86 years. Zofia will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son Marek; daughter-in-law Cindy Vermeulen; granddaughters, Rhiannon and Alyssa; brother Zbyczek (Teresa); sister Teresa; as well as many relatives in Poland and the USA. She was predeceased by her husband Adam; brother Richard; and sister Basia. Born in Lodz, Poland, February 20, 1923, she came to Canada from England to be with Adam and they were married July 14, 1951. Together they spent many happy years running a catering business, being active with the Polish community in Winnipeg, spending summers at Victoria Beach and enjoying their home and family life together. Mom loved gardening and had a natural green thumb which was evident by her beautiful plants and wonderful gardens. She took great pride in her home. She loved nature, long walks and butterflies. She was a devout Roman Catholic and enjoyed singing the hymns. There was always a sparkle in her eyes when the grandchildren came to visit Babcia. Mom you were always so kind and generous. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 31 at 10:00 a.m. in the Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue, with an Oblate Father, presiding. Interment will follow in the Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Cemetery, 4387 Main Street. Thank you so much for all the family and friends help and support in our lives. You were so important to Mom. Thanks to all the staff at Riverview Health Centre on 3E. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3E 0V9. Wieczny odpoczynek racz jej dac Panie
